Counting
One channel, one number at a time, and how strict to be about it.
People count upwards, one message each. It is a silly idea that servers get genuinely attached to, and the only real decision is what happens when somebody gets it wrong.
Setting it up
- 1Make a channel for it. It fills with numbers, so not one you use for anything else.
- 2Run /counting setup and pick it.
- 3Run /counting mode and pick how strict to be - see below.
- 4Post "1" to start.
- 5Blacklist the channel in the leveling module, unless you want counting to be the fastest way to level up.
The three modes
| Mode | On a wrong number |
|---|---|
safe | Nothing resets. The wrong message is marked and the count carries on. For a server that wants the fun without the heartbreak. |
normal | The count resets, but the same person can go again. The usual choice. |
sensitive | Resets to 1, and the same person cannot post twice in a row. For a server that wants counting to actually be hard. |
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/counting setup | Pick the channel. |
/counting mode | safe, normal or sensitive. |
/counting setnumber | Put the count where you want it. For after a reset nobody deserved. |
/counting remove | Stop counting in that channel. |
/counting stats | How the channel is doing. |
From the website
The Counting module has the channel, the mode and the current number - and the number being editable there is the one people reach for most, after a reset that was somebody's phone autocorrecting.
