Moderation
Warnings that add up, cases, timeouts, bans - and how they work together with the anti-nuke.
Moderation, the anti-nuke, the scam filter and the tripwire are one system. They write into the same record and read from it: a scam counts as a warning, warnings decide who may be given power, and everything ends up as a numbered case in one log.
How the pieces work together
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
A moderator warns somebody | Warning added, case logged, and the automatic punishment runs if a threshold is reached. |
The scam filter catches somebody | Message deleted, one-hour timeout, and it counts as a warning - so the third scam is handled like the third warning. |
A tripwire catches somebody | Softban, case logged, a softban entry in their history, and they are flagged on other servers. |
The anti-nuke stops somebody | Punished and reversed, case logged, an Anti-Nuke entry in their history. |
Somebody with 3 or more warnings is given a dangerous role | The role is taken back at once and logged. Nobody this server warned three times gets power over it. |
Warnings
A warning is a note attached to a member that other moderators can see. The point is the count: the third one tells you something the first could not.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/warn add | Warn somebody, with a reason. The reason is what the next moderator reads, so write it for them. |
/warn view | Everything on one member, oldest first - warnings, bans, scams, tripwire catches and anti-nuke actions. |
/warn list | Who has the most, across the server. |
/warn remove | Take one off. For the warning that turned out to be wrong. |
/warn clear | Take all of them off one member. For a fresh start. |

| Warnings | What happens |
|---|---|
3 | Timeout for 1 hour |
4 | Timeout for 12 hours |
5 | Timeout for 24 hours - the last step before a ban |
6 or more | Ban |
The highest step reached applies, not only an exact count. Somebody who goes from two warnings to seven in one go is banned, not skipped.
Cases
Every action against a member gets a number - Case #1, #2, #3 - per server, and is posted in the moderation log channel (set with /setup_autologs, or in the dashboard). If there is no moderation log, it goes to the anti-nuke log instead. Each case says who, why, by whom, and how many warnings they have now.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/case list | The 15 newest cases on the server. Pick a member to see only theirs, with their warning count. |
/case view | One case in full, by its number. |
The dashboard has the same record under Cases & warnings: the newest cases, who has the most warnings, and how the pieces fit together.
Timeouts, kicks and bans
| Command | What it does | When |
|---|---|---|
.timeout | Discord's own mute. They stay in the server and cannot talk or join voice. Also .mute. | Almost always the right first action. |
.untimeout | Ends it early. Also .unmute. | When they have read the rules, or when you were wrong. |
/kick | Removes them. They can return with an invite. | Rarely useful on its own. |
/ban | Removes them and keeps them out. Their warning history is kept. | When you have decided. |
/unban | Lets them back in. | Needs their user ID. |
A timeout is capped at 28 days by Discord, not by Arklynn. For longer than that you want a ban.
Channel controls
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
.lock | Stops everybody who is not staff from sending messages in a channel. |
.unlock | Opens it again. |
.slowmode | One message every N seconds. Also .sm. Slows a flood without stopping a conversation. |
